Happy Anniversary Month!!

365 Days of Showing Up, Breaking Barriers, & Pushing #FORWARD

November is officially here, and for IPG Mentorship Canada, this isn’t just another month on the calendar—it is our Anniversary Month!

One year ago, in November 2025, IPG Mentorship Canada was established. When I first stepped onto Canadian soil, mentorship wasn't on my checklist. But today, looking back at what we’ve built alongside our mentees and the vibrant iPG Sky Lounge community, I can say with certainty.

Building this platform has been one of the greatest, most rewarding gifts my Canadian immigration journey has ever produced!

I came to Canada to be a Pharmacist and expand my horizons in patient care. Tap into that expanded scope.

I imagined I'd share tips and guidance to others about my journey and help them along theirs..

But this harvest??

Nope. I couldn't even fathom this.

As I continue to grow, as the Vision keeps expanding, as the unexpected opportunities keep coming, as deeper connections are made, as more IPGs actualize and thrive and live the life they envisioned in Canada, I just want to say,

"God, THANK YOU!!"

Thank you.

Thank you.

Thank you.

Thank you to my Mentees who I have formed such special bonds with.

Thank you to my IPG community who came for support and support me.

Thank you to my to the Canadian professionals who saw my work and opened doors for me.

Thank you to my colleagues who became friends.

Thank you to my LinkedIn community who support me.

I am so very grateful. It means a lot. You have enriched my journey tremendously and I don't take any of it for granted.

I'm still new to Canada, I'm still learning, I'm still figuring this Canadian life out.

But what a treat to get to do this together!

To celebrate the community that made this Vision possible, we are reflecting on our inaugural year, looking back at the ground we broke together, and kicking off our biggest celebration yet.

365 Days by the Numbers

Behind every single statistic is a Pharmacist who chose to believe in their potential, put in the heavy hours behind closed doors, and refuse to let the steep mountain of Canadian re-licensure define their limits.

Over the past 12 months, our community has achieved monumental milestones:

  • 10 Cohorts: Guided through the PEBC Evaluating Examination (E.E.), Qualifying MCQ, and OSCE Exams.

  • 48 Mentees Coached: Dedicated internationally trained colleagues mentored across structured 16-week cohorts and one-on-one sessions.

  • 81% Exam Success Rate: Consistently outpacing national pass rates and demonstrating what happens when intentional strategy meets disciplined execution.

  • 39 PEBC Exam Passes: 39 life-changing milestones celebrated across the country.

  • 12 New Pharmacy Interns: Successfully transitioned out of the books and into live Canadian dispensary workflows.

  • 8 Newly Licensed Canadian Pharmacists: Clinicians who crossed the ultimate finish line and now practice with full independent licenses!

From Jamaica to Nigeria, India to Egypt, Serbia to Uganda— we're embodying our name: International Pharmacists! We have supported, coached, and championed pharmacists globally.

What a Year!!

How We Showed Up & Amplified the IPG Voice

Beyond exam prep, this year was about connecting and collaborating.

We took it from our usual digital home and made connections in real life!

Here's where we've been:

  • BPPC Annual Conference: Featured Panelist on the IPG Panel: "Bridging the Gap - Strategies for International Pharmacy Graduates to succeed in the PEBCs and becoming a successful Pharmacist in Canada."

  • Horizons Inaugural Conference: Panel Speaker on "Leveraging the IPG Experience to Elevate Practice."

  • Podcasts & Broadcasts: Joined the As Told by Canadian Immigrants podcast to unpack the raw realities of rebuilding in Canada, and spoke with the Canadian Pharmacists Association (CPhA) on their Beyond the Counter podcast on thriving as an IPG in rural Canada.

  • Institutional Partnerships: Collaborated with Achēv and the CPhA IPG Mentorship & Integration Project to lead MCQ and OSCE preparatory sessions. Served as a Subject Matter Expert with the Occupational English Test (OET) reviewing healthcare communication standards.

  • Connected IRL: Stepped out from behind the screens to meet, hug, and connect with our community in real life.

  • 36+ Sky Lounge Articles: Launched our community blog where real conversations can be had about what it really takes to thrive as a Pharmacist in Canada.

We showed up!

Feedback from our Mentees

Beyond the numbers, how are we impacting the community we serve? When our 16-week cohorts wrapped up, we asked our mentees how the program impacted their preparation. Let's see what they had to say.

  • 100% Recommendation Rate: ALL surveyed mentees confirmed they would recommend IPG Mentorship Canada to colleagues.

  • 100% Met or Exceeded Expectations: Every respondent confirmed the program matched or exceeded what they hoped to achieve.

  • The Confidence Surge (+58%): Average exam confidence climbed from 2.71 at baseline to 4.29 / 5.00 post-mentorship. Mentees who entered rated at 1/5—often carrying the weight of prior setbacks—walked into their exam room rating their readiness at 4/5 or 5/5.

What Mentees Shared About Their Journey

"Preparing for my February 2026 MCQ exam was a lovely experience with IPG Mentorship Canada. I love working with Khamoye. She gives me so much confidence and empowerment and she has my best interest at heart. THE smartest decision you will ever make is to pursue mentorship with her on your IPG journey!"

— Jo-Anna (February 2026 MCQ)

"Sitting the final sitting of the PEBC Evaluating Exam in October 2026 was both intense and historic. Walking into that exam, having the structure, the weekly accountability, and the bi-weekly reality checks kept me grounded when life and family distractions threatened to pull me off course. Having a mentor who walked this road herself and reminded me that this preparation is about bridging the gap to Canadian standards made all the difference. Mentorship gave me the resilience, discipline, and clarity I needed to show up, trust the process, and execute."

— Yanique (October 2026 Evaluating Exam)

"I truly enjoyed being a part of this mentorship program! The structure and accountability from start to finish kept me focused and disciplined throughout my prep. The mindset and personal coaching that Khamoye offers were just as valuable as the practical OSCE strategies taught. Her program helped me to break mental barriers, build confidence, and approach my exam with a clear strategy in mind. Thank you, Khamoye! I am grateful for the support and guidance you provided throughout my re-licensing journey."

— Kedene (February 2026 Qualifying OSCE)

"Great mentorship program where strangers become friends on a similar journey to attain one common goal in passing PEBC exam. Program crafted to individual needs, great mentor that creates a safe space and willing to help mentees modify along the way to reach the desired end goal. All in one package that also provides mental support and does not only focus on the exam. Giving the mentorship that human touch."

— Qudian (May 2026 Qualifying MCQ)

"I experienced a major setback during my exam preparation, and I can honestly say that if it hadn’t been for Khamoye and the support of the group, I don’t think I would have been able to keep going. The encouragement, accountability, and guidance they provided helped me push through one of the most difficult periods... She didn’t just say it for the sake of motivation; she consistently invested her time and energy into helping us succeed."

— Ayushi (May 2026 Qualifying MCQ)

WHAT A YEAR!!!

Looking back, I can hardly believe what we've accomplished. I am equally shocked that a year flew by so quickly as I am in total awe of what we were able to do despite the challenges and obstacles.

I think that is truly the heart of every IPG.

Pushing beyond our discomforts and showing up anyway.

We deal with self-doubt.

We deal with the exhaustion of working long survival jobs while studying until 2 AM.

We deal with homesickness, culture shock, financial strain, and the sheer vulnerability of starting over from scratch in a country where no one knows our names or our previous accolades.

Yet, day after day, cohort after cohort, we keep choosing to bet on ourselves.

We keep showing up for our families, for our callings, and for the healthcare system that so desperately needs our clinical hands.

That resilience is sacred to me. When an IPG trusts me with their re-licensing journey, they are trusting me with an intimate piece of their life. That is why I give this work means so much to me.

As Hebrews 12:11 reminds us,

"No discipline at the time is pleasant, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it."

Looking Ahead: What’s Next for Us?

While we celebrate the ground we've covered, our eyes are fixed forward:

  • November & December: Our newest MCQ & OSCE cohorts are locked in, deep into their preparation for the February 2027 exams.

  • Platform & Branding Revamp: Upgrading our systems, resources, and mentorship touchpoints to elevate your learning experience.

  • January 2027: Launching our first cohort under the historic "No More E.E." model for the May 2027 Qualifying Exams!

But wait... I have something special for you...

We didn’t get here alone. Because of the deep trust and courage of this community, November is dedicated entirely to giving back.

We are turning our anniversary into a month-long celebration of appreciation, generosity, and surprises!!
